John-William Gambrell is a NYC-based composer and music director creating bold, imaginative work for theater, dance, and film.​​

His original musicals—STARCADIA (artXnyc January 2026, FABnyc 2025) and Toothy’s Treasure: A Musical Comedy (The Tank - March 2026, SoHo Playhouse 2024)—showcase his knack for fresh storytelling and genre-blending sound.

John-William has collaborated with Broadway talents like PigPen Theatre Co., Marc Bruni, Carey Perloff, Mark Bennett, Christopher Jahnke, and his work as a dance accompanist include Joffrey Ballet School, The Ailey School, and Boston Ballet School, among others.
